Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. I work at a Friday's in Virginia and decided to try this one out with my friend on spring break. Our server (can't remember his name- mixed guy with glasses?) was awesome! He was friendly and took great care of us. He tried to sell us more than we wanted, which I appreciated as a server myself. Fridays food could be a little cheaper but it didn't bother me. Our experience was great.

Went one night and had a waiter slam menus on the table and get rude with us. We were a party of 4 that walked out and went next door to outback and spent nearly 100.00. I called the mgr and she apologized and wanted to buy us dinner and I refused to except her offer bc I just wanted to let her know what was going on at her restaurant when she was not around. 8 months later the same 4 go back. We get menus and order drinks. 2 waters 2 cokes. 20 min later we ask another waitress where our waitress is and nobody knew. We walked out again and went to outback. Save your time.. just go to outback.

Waitress was prompt on keeping our drinks filled and was very sweet. My salad was good too, minus the piece of bad avacado in my salad. My dates french dip sandwich was good too, but fries were cold.

Going here is a yearly tradition the Sunday after the Ormond Beach Powwow at The Casements. It's close by, it's reasonable and they always accommodate all of us and our noise haha. On this past visit, we made the mistake of not calling ahead and telling them that a bunch of us were coming, so while we did have to stand around and wait while they set up tables they were very pleasant about it. We also forgot that it was Spring Break so there were quite a few college kids in there. We got the area in the back on the side for our group. We completely missed the $12 unlimited appetizer special but me personally, I needed a meal. We had a rotating cast of servers taking care of us so the service was on point and we got everything we needed. I ordered a Berry Sangria which turned out to be very weak, watered down and very tart with only traces of sweetness coming from the fruit. I drank it anyway because I was thirsty. I decided on getting the Ribeye with the Lobster Tail ,cuz I can do that, with a side of fresh broccoli and a tomato mozzerella salad aka a Caprese salad. Everything was good but I did wish that the lobster tail was a bit bigger. A friend and I split the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake to take home because it was getting dark and we needed to get on the road. In all, my experience was good and I'm sure we'll be back again next year.

Well I was very excited after I saw the pictures on the menu. First of all we ordered appetizer and never got them. Other tables were complaining about there food. We don't believe in complaining we are just not coming back. The pictures are only a mirage the food was not even close to the pic. To make matters worth got a big dent on my car in the parking lot and the person who hit me left.

I've never been a huge fan of Friday's. Although I used to go here ALL the time when I lived in Ormond Beach. I had not been in over 4 years and decided to go back for lunch the other day. It's the same as I remember. There are never any beer specials, which sucks for all the beer drinkers. The food is so-so. Never anything spectacular. I ended up getting the parmesan crusted chicken, which was interesting. The cheese tortellini with spinach alfredo sauce on the side however was absolutely delicious and I was not expecting that. I would have rather of had just that for my lunch. So I will recommend that! And I always have loved their fried mozzarella sticks. Their boneless buffalo chicken isn't bad either. This is the type of place I'd go to have a few drinks and some appetizers, but not for a good lunch or dinner.

Slowest service ever. No hostess to get you right away. It took about 3 minutes to get seated. I'm about 12 minutes into getting my burger and still waiting. By the way, there are only about 10 tables seated, so it's not a full house.

Service was awful! We had to send our food back not once, not twice, but the times! Then the desert came (cane with the meal). It was a carmel something cake....except they forgot the carmel! Apparently it was awful for someone else as well. No kidding, a pizza guy walked in with two large Pizzas while we were there. Yep, someone got fed up and ordered a pizza! Best to pass this one up.

T.G.I. Fridays in Ormond Beach used to be a great place to eat, but recent trips have been disappointing. An increasingly expensive menu, and a decline in food quality is a combination that is not conducive for good dining. In a recent trip, the steak and shrimp were sub-par at best. The shrimp looked very unappetizing, and were like rubber balls. The steak, though cooked to perfection was totally devoid of taste. The once remarkable burgers are but a shadow of their previous glory. It was reminiscent of a fast food burger. The waitstaff was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. They made the dinner tolerable by their sheer force of personality. This most recent trip was the result of a buy one get one free coupon, and was intended to give T.G.I. Friday's another chance. It won't happen again!

T.G.I. Friday's in Ormond is at best a two to three star location for lunch, dinner, or if you just want to stop in to enjoy the happy hour specials. On my most recent visit, upon entering the restaurant, we were advised that there would be about a ten to fifteen minute wait, which, is okay, considering since Daytona is back into the tourist season. While I was standing inside the lobby, another group of people walks in and immediately gets seated.. So, I was slightly taken aback because, here I am in the lobby waiting with another party and people who just walked in were getting seated! Shortly after wards when the hostess realized she made a mistake, she immediately moved my fiance and I to a table. Our server, Andy dropped by to say hello and then forgot about us for around.. eh, 15 minutes or so. The manager finally got us our drinks around 10 minutes later and he promptly brought then over. Another 5 minutes goes by and our server finally gets there to take our order. As a member of the T.G.I. Friday's "Give Me More Stripes" club, I had a coupon for a free Steak or Ribs entree. I chose the baby back ribs entree, which is usually pretty good and they did not disappoint. My fiance had the steak and ribs entree which he thoroughly enjoyed. We both tried their new Parmesan steak-fries which were amazing. I had a classic wedge salad with my meal which was covered with bleu cheese crumbles (YAY). Overall- we had a some what okay experience with the exception of having to wait so long for service. The food came out quickly, but on our last visit, we were informed that a majority of the food is prepared at a factory. Our server on that trip advised us that everything is already cooked before it even gets into the restaurant... So.. it really makes you wonder. Is the price that they are asking for such food items really acceptable? Service is good and the food is okay for reminding me of something I would most likely see in the Piccadilly cafe.

The food was great - the service was even better. The manager came to our table in person to help me pick out an entree that fit with my food allergies. Highly recommended.

I never have expected much from these kind of places for amazing food. This place does not have amazing food, at best it tastes almost like a frozen dinner I get at the market. But this is the type of food you eat because there is no alternative. I had the dragonfire chicken with veggies and rice. Everything was cooked alright, but tasted as if it had been frozen precooked and heated up. But then again they aren't known for quality. The one thing that I must say is that for it being tasteless in food, this location had really good service at 11pm on a weekday night. Kyle, our server, was really great. He greeted us quickly, took our drink order, brought our drinks quickly, and checked up on us during our meal. It's a shame that good service and good food are hard to find together. Will I be back? Only if I have no other choice.
